We successfully completed our family step challenge and walked 1758km between our family in May. Now for the next challenge...

I had planned to ride in this years Ride London event but unfortunately it has been cancelled. Instead I’ve signed up to the Cycle for Dementia Challenge to cycle 500 miles over a month. As part of this I’m going to cycle 100 miles on the 30th of July as I would have done for Ride London (though maybe not the hilly bits!)

I’d  be so very grateful for your support as we have recently experienced the life changing impact of Alzheimer's for both people with dementia and their families. It affects so many aspects of life as well as memory, things that we would never have realised but make everyday life more difficult for people living with dementia.

Coronavirus and lockdown have affected everyone but in particular families living with dementia have found it even more challenging with families reporting that isolation has brought a decline in cognitive function and has had a hugely negative impact on quality of life. One of the brilliant initiatives they've funded over the last few months is to train volunteers to call people affected by dementia for a chat, and the money that we're raising will help to provide the support that is really needed in during the current times.
