Story
Thanks for taking time to visit our fundraising page. Along with a good friend David, and my son Finn, we'll be walking the Ridgeway40 (40 mile challenge walk) on the 9 May 2026 to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. The 40 miles has to be covered in under 14 and a half hours.
Pat was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2025 and had a radical prostatectomy on the 28 August 2025 and received the all clear on the 15 October. Pat did NOT have any symptoms or feel ill.
Over 12,000 men a year die from Prostate Cancer in the UK. I was lucky, a simple PSA blood test led to a referral for prostate cancer and it was caught early. Too many men fall through the gaps. We're walking and raising funds to help prevent that.
Prostate Cancer UK provides a great source of information and support (I found it very useful). They're also doing ground-breaking research to develop more effective ways to detect prostate cancer and help ensure more men are diagnosed earlier and more lives are saved. We hope you can spare a £ or two ... no matter how small the donation it all helps. Thank you
You can find more information about men at risk of prostate cancer here https://prostatecanceruk.org/prostate-information-and-support/risk-and-symptoms/are-you-at-risk
Thank you so much - PAT, DAVID and FINN.
