Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

On 20th October 2006, we attempted to walk the entire length of the Ridgeway National Trail in 7 days, for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research.

The Ridgeway National Trail is 85 miles long, and is reputed to be the oldest road in Britain, following the same route used since prehistoric times by travellers, herdsmen and soldiers. It stretches from Avebury in Wiltshire, over rolling, open downland to the west of the River Thames, and through secluded valleys and woods in The Chilterns to the east, finishing near Ivinghoe in Hertfordshire.

Well, the news is, Simon managed to complete the walk in 6 days, and I unfortunately had to pull out after 12 miles with a foot injury!

So please show your appreciation for Simon, who spent many hours alone on the trail, by digging deep and sponsoring him online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
