My dad, Rodney, is my hero and my idol. 

He has taught me that, from everything that has happened in his life, you can overcome anything. And that displaying mental fortitude and having a positive mental attitude is all you need. As he has always said to me... "PMA son!"

We’ve recently found out that my Dad is extremely unwell, and he now faces his next challenge in life but, this is not his biggest. We lost our sister to cancer at the age of 7, his brother in the same year and endured multiple business setbacks throughout his brilliant career, only to stand tall, get up, put his suit and tie on and provide for our family.

Behind this man, there is my mum. She is the absolute bedrock of us and another incredibly strong person. She is the glue to dad, my sisters and myself, and has always held us together with unwavering love and support. 

My dad is fighting with an unbelievable amount of mental resilience against his body and shows me daily that you can overcome anything with the right attitude. He truly displays one of the most stoic mindsets I’ve known, and this inspires me so much. So it's time for me to inspire him in a way I know how...

On September 4th at 9 am, I will begin a 48-hour stint on my Rogue Echo Bike in Mum and Dads lounge. I’ll only be stepping off the spin bike to take appropriate breaks for fuel, toilet and to vaseline all the areas of soreness!

I’ll be live streaming the whole event and with social distancing measures in place, I'll have visits from friends, family and special guests. 

The first charity I’ve chosen to support is Restart, (info below), and specifically to support the work they do to help the mental wellbeing and health of professional rugby players. We all struggle, and sportsmen are no different. Secondly, I am fundraising for the very well-known Cancer Research UK to support care for people like Rodders!
Please get behind me and give me the strength to endure this ultra-event, which I know I can get it done with your support and with my Dad by my side. 

This is for you Dad, and this is for the men who have overcome mountains in their life, just like you and just like me.
