adidas Manchester Marathon 2024 · 14 April 2024 ·
Hello there i hope you’re all well my name is Ritchi Edwards and I’m an actor & official voice & advocate for the Born Free Foundation, in 2020 i became an official voice & advocate for Born Free who have held a very special & dear place in my families hearts especially my mothers ever since their beginning as Zoo Check with two of her biggest inspirations Born Free co-founders Will Travers & Virginia McKenna becoming two of my biggest inspirations, me getting to be part of their journey part of their pride giving hope to animals worldwide brought so much joy to my mums heart and she still to this day says it feels surreal to her!… it will be my first Ultra Marathon for us, I’ll be running Manchester to Liverpool(GB Ultras) on 29th March which is 50 miles.
£10 could buy a health-enhancing vitamin boost for one lion.
£14 could pay for a meal.
£25 could buy one day’s expert care for one lion at Shamwari.
For the 45 wild cats currently in Born Free’s care, there is a total annual cost of £424,801 to cover their food, shelter and veterinary bills. We are fortunate to have funding partners and lifetime care supporters for part of these costs, but there is still £210,000 to be raised for the current financial year.
Will be going to a place in my mind & with my body that i’ve never been before but i believe in taking a stand and going to great lengths for what we believe in and at the same time that’s a huge testament to the human spirit & soul what we are capable of through the eyes of adversity!, but it’s nothing compared to what these beautiful animals endure, i do it for them and my Born Free Family 🐾❤️
You can see in more detail what your money goes towards when sponsoring me by going to the Born Free website www.bornfree.org.uk. Born Free will always have a very special place in my heart so thank you to all of you who reach in to their pockets and sponsor me so that Born Free can continue to fight for those who have no voice and continue to look after animals in their care!. I’ve raised over £6000 since running my first marathon for Born Free and this year will be my first Ultra Marathon for us, all of you who have sponsored, shared and supported me along the way for all my challenges for Born Free i see and truly appreciate you all!. I really am so grateful to those sponsoring me as Born Free & the animals have a very special emotional place in my heart.
