RJ Power Networks are taking part in Rough Runner 2018 to raise money for ST. Luke’s Hospice in Bailsdon. (https://roughrunner.com/) (https://stlukeshospice.com/)

One of our team members had a loved one in St. Luke’s Hospice and has experienced firsthand all the hard work, dedication, and support from those who work at St. Luke’s. They made Kim’s sister’s time there comfortable, helped with special family meal all prepared and cooked by the chef at the Hospice, but most importantly they filled her time there with love.

“My sister passed away on 24th December 2017, she was diagnosed with Bowel cancer 4 years ago and had been going to St Luke's Hospice in Basildon. They looked after her so well especially when she was passing, their hospitality was amazing and I can’t thank them enough for allowing us to be with my sister 24/7.

The members of staff there are all so incredible, they will do anything for you and make you feel at home. The hospice is run by donations and volunteers. Takes very special people to be able to do something like that.

Its work like this that goes un-noticed by others unless they have experienced it for themselves. St. Luke’s is completely run off donations and need around 5 Million a year to be able to carry on doing the amazing work that they are doing, with this in mind RJ Power Networks want to raise as much money for St. Luke’s as we can, so that they can carry on caring and helping families like Kim’s.

So, the RJ Power Networks team are taking part in Rough Runner September 2018, which is a 5k run that includes obstacles like the famous TV show, Total Wipe Out. We will definitely get some spectacular photos of the Networks Team taking on the Rough Runner course!

It will be a great challenge for the team, but most importantly a fun way to raise money for two amazing charities, St. Lukes and Mount Vernons (please see our other just giving page to read the full story for Mount Vernons https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rjp-networks1 ) and we are very proud of our team coming together to support Kim, Matt and Tom in such a memorable way.
