Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

In October I am going to Nakuru, Kenya to help coach cricket to some youngsters and train cricket coaches, umpires and scorers.  As part of a team of six people I will be staying about two hours drive from Nairobi and building on the work of previous visits to the region by Cricket Without Boundaries.  I will be teaching new cricket coaches and umpires as well as helping lots of children learn to play and enjoy the game of cricket.  After teaching in various schools there will be a Kwik Cricket tournament.

There won’t be any great grass fields to play on - the vast majority of children have never seen the game and the fields will be a hotpotch of long grass, stones and large patches of dried mud.

We will also be providing visual reminders about preventing the spread of HIV Aids which remains one of the most prolific killers in Africa.

I am really pleased to be supporting this venture and would like to thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I need to raise money to buy kit and equipment for the children and adults to whom we will be introducing the game of cricket.  Not only will we be coaching adults to become coaches, but umpires and scorers too!

Please do not feel that you have to donate but just £10 would surely help put a smile on those less fortunate than ourselves - Thanks very much.....

None of the money comes to me!!!  It all goes to Cricket Without Boundaries and supports their work in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
