We are RNID Together, we’re here to make life fully inclusive for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus. Your help will help us make a real difference to the lives of deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I am running the 2024 London Marathon in support of the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID).

I am somebody with hearing loss. Living with this condition has proven to me how prohibitive it can be, both in social and professional settings. And, somehow, it still carries a stigma that other conditions managed to shake long ago.

This is why RNID's mission statement matters: to make life more inclusive for deaf people and people with hearing loss or tinnitus. And they are giving it a good go, providing information and support for people who face barriers and discrimination because of their hearing loss, and funding research to find new ways to improve their quality of life.

Donating here will help them continue to do that. And it will really spur me on – I have always maintained a half-decent level of fitness but a marathon is way beyond anything I would otherwise consider. Getting out there to train on cold, dark mornings and evenings is going to be horrible so I will really appreciate the support. I am posting about training and things on Instagram (@graeme_) – please head there to see more on why this is an important cause.

Thank you.
