Ian Allen is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young
In memory of Ryan Tilley
Donations cannot currently be made to this page
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Just over 5 years ago, we lost Ryan Nathaniel Tilley to what is known as sudden adult death syndrome (SADS), brought on by an undetected genetic heart defect. A top bloke who was taken from us far too soon.

In memory of the great man, to help raise awareness of SADS, and support the brilliant work that Cardiac Risk in the Young (C-R-Y) do, on 9th July this year myself, Mike Haymes, Alex Marson, Ben Kyte, Sam Thompson, Mel Hicko Sam Hicko, Nicola Mawby, Steph Winnack and Jack Winnack are taking part in a ironman challenge. The challenge is split into 3 parts with Sam H, Mel and Steph doing the 2.4 mile swim, Mike, Alex, Sam T and Ben doing the 112 mile bike, and me, Mawbs and Jack running a marathon (26.3 miles). The bike and marathon will visit places that meant the most to Ryan during his short but amazing life. The bike and run will both finish at Cropston Cricket Club, which will be hosting a charity day alongside these events. We need all the help we can get to make it round, so get in touch if you'd like to join us for some or all of the swim/ride/run.

Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
