Below I'll tell a little bit about me and the Road to Dragon's Back.  First of all I would like to tell you why Pendleside Hospice and why Dragon's Back.  Pendleside have supported most of the families in and around our area for ages.  I had donated in the buckets and raffles in town a couple of times but nothing major. Then cancer hit our family hard, taking two of my favorite people in a very small time.  My beautiful Grandma and my hilarious Uncle, my heart is still broken.  Typing this has me in floods of tears.  The harsh truth is cancer is vicious and isn't going away, its going to keep coming into our lives. Pendleside took care of our family and they do the same for loads of others too.  That's why we've got to do something now while we can.  I'm not strong enough to provide the type of palliative care the team at Pendleside deliver daily.  But if they're prepared to jump in those trenches everyday, then I'm prepared to run up and down mountains to support that action.

The Dragon's Back Race is a massive challenge that will take a serious amount of preparation.  It's a 6 day event covering 380km/263 miles over the Welsh mountains, with 17,400m/10.8 miles elevation that's almost twice the height of Everest.  It is the worlds toughest mountain race.  As I train for this, I hope to inspire others to support the hospice.  They provide loads of services and I'm going to blog/vlog about them along my journey.  

I've secured a place on the race and I'm preparing myself for the toughest challenge I have ever faced. If you want to add me on strava or any of the other socials, your welcome to.
