Some people think we are completely crazy holding our wedding day at Nuclear Races  running a 12km mud run with obstacles!! However, we see it as sharing our day with friends and family doing a sport we love.  It is what we love and we hope others will too. 

In 1994, Rob was injured during service by a landmime in Kigali, Rwanda.  At that moment, his life changed completely.  Rob suffered a below knee amputation of his right leg and his service in the army ended.  Through BLESMA, Rob was able to take part in numerous activities from Sky diving, sailing and skiing, meeting other amputees in the same situation has made a huge difference over the years. 

Seven years ago, we were due to get married in a very 'classic' wedding day! However, it was never to be and we ended up suing the venue who refused to return our wedding money despite having double booked our day and having no record of us booking there. 

In 2015 Rob took on the renowned Tough Guy with friends whilst Becky went to watch.  It was the first time that Becky wanted to have a go herself.  Once they got home, Becky researched other races and found Nuclear Races. She talked some friends into doing it with her and set about training!! It was a struggle and her type 1 diabetes has made it more difficult than it would otherwise be, but following robs lead, she completed Nuclear as her first OCR. 

Since then, as a couple, we have completed numerous OCRs (obstacle races) together including Nuclear fallout, Blast, Rush, Blackout, Winter and Summer Nuts, Tough Guy, Muddy Dog Challenge, with many more planned for 2015 including The Elements, Nuts, Nuclear, World War Run and Mud Monsters.  Even Charlotte and the dogs are in on the act with many races under their belts too! It's a family sport!! 

We have not asked for wedding presents from our guests, their presence in our run is enough and we would be honoured to have them by our sides.
