Story

So, having enjoyed a few leisurely Sunday cycle rides with a similar bunch of ageing specimens - someone, namely my cousin Alistair, suggested that maybe we should join his friend Bucko in his 2010 venture to cycle from Paris to Geneva.  Inspired by Bucko’s online diary of his 2009 ride from the to the Isle of Arran, Tair and I found ourselves agreeing to this foolish venture.  What seemed inspiring now seems foolhardy - thanks Bucko!

To make sure we did actually get off our backsides and complete this challenge we set ourselves a target and a promise to raise as much money as we could for our chosen charities.  Tair will be riding for MacMillan whilst I will be riding Headway, the brain injury association.  Money is in ever short supply (unless you're a banker!) so on behalf of Headway and myself I really do appreciate any donations that you can make.  Thanks.  Rob

p.s. We have a website and a blog if you're interested in keeping track of our progress www.paristogeneva.co.uk

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help
