Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I enjoy watching cycling and during lock down have become a keen cyclist.  Well fair weather cyclist with a smart trainer in garage for winter months. So I thought I would combine my love of watching and actual cycling, with the opportunity to ride part of the route of the biggest bike race of all, the Tour de France, and also spend some time watching it. So in July I am off to Denmark to ride the 1st 184km (115 miles) road stage of the Tour and using to the opportunity raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.  The trip is a self funded organised holiday and all money raised will go to PCUK.

Why PCUK?  My father-in-law Robin died of prostate cancer 6 years ago after a long battle.  Robin welcomed me into his family when I married Vicki my wife, and was a good friend as well as family.  It has also impacted uncles and friends over the years.  1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. If you’re over 50, or your dad or brother had it, or you’re black , you’re at even higher risk.  Its something that impacts a significant  percentage of our friends and family.  So I am taking the opportunity to take part in something I love and raise money to fight something that has directly impacted my family and friends.
