Story
People that know me, know that two of the things that I really value are running, and working with kids, particularly those with extra needs. In April, I am going to run the London Marathon and raise money for Whizz Kidz, so that I can help some kids that need wheelchairs and give them greater opportunities in life.
I have run many marathons and half marathons over the years and have not looked for support for any charities. I had booked in for the Paris Marathon which is two weeks before London, but have now taken on the challenge of completing two marathons in two weeks so that I can support this worthy cause as it has made me realise how lucky I am to be mobile. So I am asking for support to give back to those that need a little boost to help them be more mobile.
I am also donating 1 dollar for every km I run in each month leading up to the marathon in April.
Over 75,000 young people in the UK need to use a wheelchair to be mobile. Unfortunately, they cannot access the equipment that meets their needs through local services. Whizz Kidz are the UK’s leading charity supporting young wheelchair users up to 25 years old. They empower young wheelchair users with the equipment, support, and confidence-building experiences they need to take an active role in society. The Whizz Kidz goal is to create a movement for progress towards a more open and accessible world.
