Growing up I suffered from serve acne all over my body. I has been with me at varying degrees most of my life (only in the last 2years has it disappeared). It was painful, embarrassing and caused issues for my self-esteem... I tried every cream and pill under the sun. It went away for a few years and then came back and the self-esteem issues came back with it. Looking back I wish there was an organisation like Changing Faces who could provide the support I need to challenge the bullying and build up my self-esteem by defeating those dark demons. This is why I am challenging myself (see below) to raise funds for the work of changing faces in Scotland... I am passionate about the work of CF as I want to live in a nation that doesn't bully someone because they look different or for that indivudal to think they are not as good looking as the guy (or girl) standing next to them. We are all unique and a outward looking society we should embrace difference.
The challenge.... For those of you who know me, I’m a fan of food and rouge vino. This over time has resulted in my slender figure (check the pictures from pre 2009) turning into a very expensive and round temple (pictures post 2009). So in order to seriously lose some weight and raise dosh for an excellent cause I am going to be attempting to run (yes run) 10k in Leeds (July) and then 13.1miles in Glasgow (October)
This will be a challenge and a half however I am confident with training, your generosity this will be a mission I will succeed in.
So dig deep and donate some cash to Changing Faces-Scotland who are benefiting from all the pain, tantrums and tears I am going to be going through.

Changing Faces is the leading UK charity that represents people with disfigurements. We provide personal support to individuals and families; work with schools, employers and health care professionals to ensure a culture of inclusion for people with disfigurements; and campaign for social change. All money donated to me will go towards our work in Scotland.
