Story
Recently my dad has been receiving treatment for prostate cancer, my father-in-law also received treatment in the past, and my wifes uncle lost his battle with prostate cancer.
I'm a nurse with urology experience and have cared for many cancer sufferers. Cancer and other chronic illnesses take over your life, they can strip you of your dignity and can reduce the most stoical man, woman, and child to a shadow of what they once were.
As a nurse I see people at their most vulnerable and it made me confront my own view of myself, it made me realise that actually we are all one and all unique, and for the last few years I have taken the opportunity when offered to go clothes free. Its a fantastic, liberating breath of fresh air, I just wished I did it sooner. Ho hum. Then the option of taking part in a World Naked Bike Ride arose, I've been wanting to do one and thought as I am a member of Men Utd prostate cancer charity why not combine the two.
So on 4th June I will be joining all the other naked folk in Bristol and riding around for a couple of hours in the buff. Come and join me, and if not sponsor me. Thanks...
