Offa’s Dyke · 11 September 2020

We are a voluntary Search and Rescue service covering the Central Brecon Beacons and the South and Mid Wales area. A 999 24/7 service operating in all weather conditions to assist those injured/lost in mountain/rural/urban environments. We rely on donations for the £60,000 yearly running costs.

Story

On 11th September I will set off from Prestatyn and try to ‘run’ to Chepstow - the full length of Offa’s Dyke.

Training has been going well, but obviously this is a huge challenge. To make things a little more ‘interesting’ I will be trying to do this self-supported following The Spine Race definition (no crew, no drop bags, no pacers, only using facilities available to the public).

All being well, I hope to get to Chepstow some time on Sunday evening.

I am running the length of Wales in support of the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue team. Maintaining operational capacity is entirely reliant on donations and grants. The team is one of the busiest in the country and responds 24/7 to a wide range of incidents, including during the current pandemic. Every little helps toward supporting the team in the invaluable work they do.
