Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and thanks to all of you who have already been so wonderfully generous.

THE STORY SO FAR..................

    I set out to complete two separate events - a 150 mile coast to coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth in August followed by the Glasgow half marathon on 7th September.

COAST TO COAST

      I completed the coast to coast although my friend Charlie, whom I set out with, wasn't quite so lucky.......... he came off his bike at speed on a downhill stretch in Winlatter Forest near Keswick , broke his collarbone and took most of the skin off his back! Needless to say he wasn't able to continue so, in the interests of fundraising for a great cause, I continued on my own while Charlie set off in the ambulance to the hospital in Carlisle! I have to say it was an odd feeling and I did wonder whether the pain of a broken collarbone was likely to be preferable to another 125 miles on a bike with a saddle that was about as forgiving as a block of granite!

GLASGOW HALF

     This weekend its the Glasgow half marathon. I'd love to say I'm fully fit and ready but the training schedule hasn't been quite what I'd originally planned so I'll need to wing it a bit and see how I go.
