Were on a missionto give the kids in Bisesero, Rwanda a decent football pitch that the whole community can enjoy. After the horrors of the '94 genocide, this community deserve it - and right now it really is the worst pitch in the world!

Story

Hi, I'm walking 15 miles for Scottish Football for Rwanda. They're on a mission to fix up the worst football pitch in the World, at Bisesero village, Western Rwanda, to benefit the kids and the whole community.Think slopes, lots of them. Different directions, different gradients. Think big mounds of grass plonked across an uneven clay surface. A telegraph pole several yards onto the pitch, and a big concrete block poking out of the ground somewhere in the middle. A byline with a 40 yard drop down one side and long, skinny trees making up the posts and crossbar.

Then imagine kids of all ages and abilities, playing on this pitch with unlimited enthusiasm, energy and joy. They do already - a typical Rwandan response towards their poverty and hardship, and their horrific past.

I'm lucky to have perfect astro pitches to play on every week - these kids have nothing, they play in bare feet and wear rags.

The total cost will be £10k, of which £6k was raised last year - the aim is to raise the last £4k in 2023. My £100 will really help them hit the target

Thanks, Robs
