Story
This Saturday I will be walking 20km (12 miles) around London to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
I'm supporting and walking with my wonderful girlfriend Natalie to whom this cause is so important. Natalie's Nan had MS as long as she knew her, and her Dad Steve also lives with the condition after being diagnosed in 2006.
The MS society estimates that there are over 130,000 people with MS in the UK, and that nearly 7,000 people are newly diagnosed each year. This means that around one in every 500 people in the UK has MS, and that each week, 130 people are diagnosed.
The money raised will support MS society's work, such as the ground-breaking Stop MS Appeal, which is aiming to raise £100 million to fund life-changing MS research. By 2025, the MS society want to be in the final stages of testing treatments for everyone with MS. Treatments that slow or stop disability progression.
Helping to develop treatments that slow or stop the progression of MS means the world to Natalie, me, her family and everyone who lives with it today. MS is a horrible condition that affects each individual in different ways and this cocktail of symptoms means treatment can be difficult. By helping to raise funds to further research into treatment of MS you are helping countless families around the UK, including Natalie's.
Thank you so much for your support, by sharing or donating, it really would mean so much to us both! XXX
