Story
Hi, I'm walking 15 miles with my mates to support Scottish Football for Rwanda. They're on a mission to fix up the worst football pitch in the World, at a small village called Bisesero, Western Rwanda. I'm pretty lucky, having awesome astro pitches to play on every week. The kids at Bisesero have the worst pitch in the World and they deserve something a bit better for the whole community to use. What's their pitch like? Think slopes, lots of them. Different directions, different gradients. Think big mounds of grass plonked across an uneven clay surface. A telegraph pole several yards onto the pitch, and a big concrete block poking out of the ground somewhere in the middle. A byline with a 40 yard drop down one side and long, skinny trees making up the posts and crossbar. Then imagine kids of all ages and abilities, playing on this pitch with unlimited enthusiasm, energy and joy. They do already - a typical Rwandan response towards their poverty and hardship, and their horrific past. The total cost will be £10k, of which £6k was raised last year - the aim is to raise the last £4k in 2023
