Story

As the new Premier League season kicks off, I’ll be walking alongside friends and family covering 37 miles of the capital, visiting top flight London teams before finishing at the Emirates Stadium – all in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

I will set off from West Ham’s London Stadium, visitng Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park, Chelsea's Stamford Bridge and Tottenham’s new home at Wembley Stadium before finishing at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

I’ll be walking over three days, setting off on Wednesday 9th August and aiming to finish this mega walk in time for Arsenal’s 7.45pm kick off against Leicester City on Friday 11th August.

Why am I doing it? Back in January, Prostate Cancer UK invited friends, supporters and Londoners like me to come and hear about their new campaign called Stronger Knowing More – which is raising awareness of the increased risk of prostate cancer black men over 45 face, but are likely to be blissfully unaware of.

That event was an education for me. I had no idea how common prostate cancer was, or how it could even affect me, especially as a black man. I went away and felt inspired to do something. So, as a man of my word, I’ve been in training to do my own March for Men following in the footsteps of the legend that is Jeff Stelling.

I’d be thankful for any support you can give me.

Robbie.
