London to Brighton off-road Bike Ride · 21 September 2013 ·
Dear Friends, Colleagues and Co-workers,
It’s a new year, but Heart Disease isn’t beaten yet, so I’m doing another ride to raise money for theBritish Heart Foundation using JustGiving and I'd really appreciate your support.
Last year, on the 25 May I rode the London to Brighton Bike Ride. This was a 60 mile ride, with a little twist to the traditional, in that it was at night.
This was a lot of fun, even through delays, wayward marshal directions (twice up the North Downs, at an extra 6 miles...) and the odd crash (turns out roadside debris can fix a buckled wheel rim sufficiently for another 40 miles...) and, through the generous donations from some of you, I raised £300 for the British Heart Foundation.
This year, on the 21 September, I am doing another bike ride. Again, London to Brighton. Although, this time it 75 miles. And, this time it’s Off Road.
The British Heart Foundation does a lot of great work. It would mean a lot if you could sponsor me, so we can help support this charity.
Heart Disease is the UK’s single biggest killer today. A fact brought home to me when Chris Boakes, a school friend, died from Heart issues that no amount of current medicine, money or expertise could prevent. He was 26 years old.
The British Heart Foundation provides over 50% of all the funding into Cardiovascular Research in the UK, and with our help their aim is to ‘Mend Broken Hearts’ within a generation and make stories like Chris’s a thing of the past.
If you would like to make a donation, you can do so in 2 ways:
· You can make a donation online via my JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/RobBrown13 It's easy, fast and totally secure.
· You can text a donation using your mobile phone. Simply text to 70070, with my ID Code ROBB58 and the amount you wish to donate. For example, your text to 70070 could look like this ROBB58 £5
If you are kind enough to sponsor me, please tick Gift Aid. It costs you nothing more, but if you are aUK Taxpayer, it means the British Heart Foundation can claim back tax from the government to get an extra 25p for every £1 you sponsor.
Thank You
