Rob Davies's Kilimanjaro Challenge

Kilimanjaro · 10 March 2009
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On October 13th this year I reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with a group of 21 others who I met for the first time at Heathrow airport just a few days earlier! For me this was a personal challenge of a lifetime, and equally tough was my fitness regime which began on 1st January, as well as the "four-legged" flights each way, as I am not the world's greatest flyer! I funded the entire cost of the trip myself, but decided to raise sponsorship in support of a great local charity based in my home town of Malton, Ryedale Special Families. I set myself an ambitious target of £1 for every metre of climb - which equates to a total of £5.985.00.
As part of my fundraising efforts I wrote and recorded a song along with a number of my musician friends. The video below is part of the "World Premier" live performance at a special fundraising evening in Hutton le Hole Village Hall on Saturday 16th May. If you would like to receive a free copy of the CD simply make a donation and I will send one to you!
Although my challenge to reach the summit is complete, I still intend to reach my goal of £5,985.00 so if you can help that would be fantastic.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ryedale Special Families gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now and help support this extremely worthy cause!
