Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Three reasons to donate:
1)Macmillan Cancer Support will be able to help more people and families who are dealing with Cancer.
2)They are pretty brilliant and help when you need help and also when you don't realise you need help. I think that's pretty clever.
3)Anyone who knows me will appreciate that completing this challenge won’t be easy and is by no means a sure-thing. (As I write I have lost a week of training because I can barely walk: I foolishly played football with some 7 year-olds at the weekend). The more you can give, the harder it will be for me to give up.
Why Macmillan?
I want to thank them again for all the help they gave my mum, Mae, towards the end of her 20 years of living with Breast Cancer. They helped me too - and I needed the help. I was with mum when the Oncologist said they would be stopping the radiotherapy treatment. The first words out of my mouth were: “so she is ok now?”. I had many chats with the Macmillan doctor who gave my brother and I sensible advice and talked us through what we needed to do. I was privileged to be with my mum all the way and eternally grateful that Macmillan were there too.
