Story
I may look as though I play for Chelsea, but I work for Anglian Water and they are running a "biggest loser" programme aimed at getting people to lose weight and lead healthier lifestyles. Now those who know me may say "but Bob, you cant afford to lose weight - you are already pencil thin", but no I do not agree - and besides I am planning to audtion for the follow-up to Skyfall with Daniel Craig. If I get it the title of the film will probably be "Bond goes to Seed".
Although the biggest loser programme is not aimed at raising money, I thought it may be a good idea - and it will keep me on the straight and narrow. No more Pie and Mash (with green liqour) or Bread and dripping ( with plenty of salt and pepper), great cockney delights on which our great nation is built - but healthy dishes and exercise - oh what joy awaits me.
I wanted to support a local charity and have chosen Centre 33. This chairty provides independent, free and confidential services to young people in Cambridgeshire. These include information, advice and general support, counselling, support to young carers and participation in peer education projects.
People give so much all the time I know - so please do not feel you have to donate. However if you can that would be wonderful - and thank you anyway for seeing what it is I would like to do.
I have started my programme - initial weight of 15 stone 6 - originally looking to lose 3 stone by end of April 2013. I am already down to 13 stone 11 so I am upping the target to 50 pounds in total - a target weight of 11stone 12 by end of April - or for the metric heads a total loss of 22 kilos (98 to 76). My trusted colleague Jo Pell will be weighing me each month and I will post the results as and when.
Many thanks - Bob
