So, after already running two half marathons for Pengaligon’s Friends I’ve decided to take the plunge and compete in three more in the space of seven months over three different counties (two different continents). The first being Sydney in May, the second Truro in September and the third being Auckland in October.
So the hard part, the story.
My sister and her husband (Mark) lost their baby boy Charlie just 29 hours after giving birth.
“Charlie was born in May 2015, and sadly grew his angel wings at the age of just 29 hours. We found out Charlie had really invasive strep A and sepsis. Sadly Harry and Lottie were there when Charlie collapsed at home in my arms, and Harry witnessed the midwife doing CPR. Penhaligans Friends have been an amazing support to us as a family, they have done a memory day that really helped Harry, as well as working with his school to overcome his fear of ambulances, following seeing Charlie rushed off. They have continued to support us through the birth of our rainbow baby Molly who was born in November 2016, and we know they are always there to answer questions, offer support and in the future to help Molly understand about her angel brother. They do amazing work and have been so great to us we want to raise as much as we can today thank you”.
With this being said I thought I would run another Half Marathon in memory of my Nephew Charlie..
