This year (2013) we lost a colleague and friend, Barry, to cancer. Barry worked with us for 5 years , I knew Barry since the boy scouts and we were apprenticed at the same company. Also this year one of our team, Andy, lost his Wife, Mandy, also to cancer at the age of 40.
Both were cared for by the Macmillan Cancer Support team.
As a team (to date we are now 9 and expect a few friends to join in) we wanted to raise some money for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.
Barry was a keen walker and so we have decided to try to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowden in 3 successive days, the plan is to go up the "Hard ways", although the train back down from Snowden might be too tempting on the last day.
I am not sure how many of the boys will complete this challenge, and whether they will be up for work after the 3 days but I am sure they will give it their very best.
Any donations, big or small will be more than welcome for this deserving charity.
