I've been a volunteer mentor with Mentoring Plus for around three years. In that time I've supported two young people - a 14 year old and an 11 year old from the Bath/BANES area. We spent a few hours a week together for a year; having fun, doing something new, exploring new places, or just chatting. Although they had challenges of their own, I saw their confidence and personalities bloom. The support of a mentor helps them to navigate school and home life a little more easily, which can make an invaluable difference.
