Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please take time to read my story.
I have decided to take part in the RideLondon-Essex bike ride, to fundraise for a great charity Abigails Footsteps and in loving memory of my son Aziah Robert Edgson.
Aziah suffered with non immune fetal hydrops, which caused abnormal amount of fluid build up in his chest area, this meant his lungs could not develop to their full capacity. Shorty after birth, he was rushed to intensive care and remained there for a number of hours, Aziah put up a fight but further complications occurred resulting in cardiac arrest and heart wrenching tragedy with his passing.
Unknown to Enrika and I, Medway Maritime Hospital have a bereavement suite for parents and families who go through new born child loss - Abigail’s, this allowed us to have precious moments with Aziah you would not normally have. My son was taken far too soon, any parent should never experience this and there are no words to describe the pain. Abigail’s incredible support network offered in such times was a great comfort. I hope to raise as much money as possible and for many years to come.
Abigail's Footsteps help in many ways, from creating sympathetic space for parents in hospitals, to providing much needed equipment for parents to spend longer with their babies whilst also offering specialist baby loss counselling sessions. Please help us raise vital funds by supporting our team to complete this challenge, whether you give a little or a lot it makes a huge difference.Thank you.
