This year has been such a difficult time for many people. Young people in both of our families have suffered and developed eating disorders (anorexia), changing their lives by affecting their mental health as well as their physical wellbeing. We have tried to help them through the many challenges that anorexia presents and in the end, we needed professional help and support. Unfortunately one of our daughters, Sophie had to be admitted to hospital where she is still receiving specialist help. We don’t know where we would be without the caring staff of Ward 31A and the Richardson Eating Disorder Service at the RVI Newcastle. We want to do what we can to raise funds for them to continue providing facilities in the occupational therapy room where patients are able to engage in therapeutic activities as part of their recovery.
