I successfully completed the Cairngorm 100 Cycling Event on 4th June 2011 in aid of Combat Stress: The Ex-Services Mental Welfare Society.

Months of training, gallons of energy drink and (now) a rock hard back-side were committed to tackle this 98 mile/9000ft climb road cycling event.  Th elast 3 miles were gruelling to saythe least.

Combat Stress? Please note that many Combat Stress clients experienced their traumas well away from the battlefield and were called upon to help out in the aftermath of terrorist attrocities, civil war and natural disasters.  Many of my clients just happened to be the available men/women closest to the incident, be they at home (Lockerbie, Aberfan, Omagh) or abroad (Pakistan Earthquakes, Ethiopian Famine, African Civil Wars, Balkan Civil Wars etc) to name but a few. They got on with what was required of them and now, often decades later, suffer the consequences of psychological trauma which can ruin their lives and also the lives of those closest to them.
