Robert's Running 100km in March

Running 100km in March · 31 March 2021
Hello everyone, I wanted to share something with you that will hopefully help to raise awareness of a charity that I care about.
Action for Stammering Children is a UK-based charity helping over 150,000 children and young people who stammer. ASC’s mission is to ensure that every child and young person across the UK who stammers has access to effective services and support to help them meet the challenges they face.
Having a mild stammer myself, I feel it is important to be open and transparent and share my own personal experiences. I have my good days and bad days but growing up for me was no different. Overcoming challenges like speaking in assembly, doing a comprehensive reading as part of English lessons, and speaking over the phone are just typical examples of situations that I found
challenging on a daily basis.
For me, I found putting myself in uncomfortable situations such as public speaking, taking a lead role when doing presentations, and booking appointments over the phone rather than online all helped me to become more confident. These are all simple but effective techniques that I have found helped me and that other people with stammers could try to do as part of their development and journey.
I believe that having the right education and infrastructure in place for children and young people who stammer will mean that they have the same opportunities and quality of life as their peers.
Where do donations
go?
In March I will be doing 100KM in 31days to raise awareness for Action for Stammering Children UK. My target is to achieve £500, if you would like to donate, please use the link below. Any donations at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your support,
Robert Little
