Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page in support of Parkinson’s Disease research at The University of Sheffield. I am running the Sheffield half marathon on 29th March 2020 to raise funds for this cause, as part of the University team.

There is no cure for Parkinsons Disease and no way to stop the disease from getting any worse. Affecting 145,000 people in the UK alone in 2020, new treatments are needed to stop Parkinson’s in its tracks.

Together with your support, we can make a real difference. Our research will result in a huge leap forward towards personalised treatments for Parkinson's:

  • Finding personalised treatments for patients to slow or even stop how quickly the disease takes hold
  • Speeding up the development of new treatments
  • Improving the effectiveness and outcomes of clinical trials

Your donations will support this important work, helping our researchers to lead the way in developing new treatments for Parkinson's Disease.
