Mercury Rising is an exciting project that will modernise and transform our much-loved theatre, safeguarding its future for the whole Essex community. I am Chair of the Capital Sub-Committee at the Mercury Theatre, and fully supportive of this programme.

We’ve already raised a fantastic £7m thanks to support from Arts Council England, Colchester Borough Council and Essex County Council. But we have £1.7m left to raise. So I am dusting off the running shoes and have entered a 7.5. mile road race organised by the fabulous Colchester Harriers to try and do my bit to close the gap a little.
