‘Better Care, Healthier Lives’. We are the charity that exists to support St George’s hospitals and the communities they serve. Every day, our work makes a real difference to patients, their families and friends and the staff who care for them.

Story

My brother Tom was taken to the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Georges Hospital after he suffered a sudden and unexpected bleed into the brain at his home on 29th April 2012. He was treated and looked after by the staff of NICU until he passed away peacefully on the 6th May.

Tom was nothing short of a legend. He had an infectious personality and a great charisma, which meant he was instantly liked by those who met him, and loved by those who knew him. I miss him terribly but I have many great memories of him which will stay with me forever.

I aim to raise £5,000 for a Bispectral Index machine which monitors sedation levels in the brain and which will be used with patients on NICU just like Tom. Tom did not survive his brain haemorrhage but this machine will help the recovery of others on this ward that do.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Many thanks for your donation.
