Robert's Pennine Way

Robert Jones is raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust

Pennine Way · 23 August 2020

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you have found your way here then you probably know that 4 years ago I was very ill with a rare type of cancer. After 18 months of heavy chemotherapy, major surgery, radiotherapy and more chemo I was pronounced cancer free and now just have regular scans to make sure that all is well.

During this time I was mostly treated on the Teenage Cancer Trust ward at University College Hospital. After the support and care they gave me and my family I thought I should try to raise some money for them.

The Pennine Way is a 268 mile or 431 km long-distance path. It was the first National Trail in England and is probably the toughest. Not only will I be walking through some of the wildest areas of the country but I will have the added handicap of my Dad coming with me.

I was trying to raise £5 per mile but people have been so generous I am now aiming for £5 per kilometre. If you could give anything to help that would be great.
