Story
Firstly, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I know in normal times asking friends, families, colleagues and associated to support with sponsorship is tough, but in the current climate this is even more challenging.
I am running the London Marathon for Diabetes UK in April 2023. Why..... ?
My mom is type 2 and manages this through medication, diet, unfortunately, my father-in-law is a bad type 1 diabetic and is currently in hospital receiving treatment due to diabetes. Although he lives with his diabetes, as he has got older there have been more challenges, resulting in amputation of a toe on his right foot in 2021 and in September 2022 amputation of a toe on his left foot, unfortunately this has been less successful and has a bad infection which has spread and may now require more surgery.
Further away from my family members, there are people in our triathlon club who have family members, children that suffer with various levels of Diabetes and a closer friends son was diagnosed with type 1 at the age of 11, seeing the pressure and challenges this gave his parents is something no parent should need to deal with.
Any donations and gift aid you can spare, are hugely appreciated, you'll feel good knowing you are helping people who have challenges in other ways and that your donation is going towards research and support to fight diabetes.
