Story

It's not only about the physical effects as many of you will know about  if you have seen me limping around in pain when a flare up occurs but also the psychological effects of living with the visable skin condition. During my time of living with these conditions I have had people leave a swimming pool when i enter, numerous comments on the plaques covering the body and even people pulling their hand away away when going to give them money at a shop counter all because of a NON contagious immune system disease.

People with these chronic conditions not only suffer from the stigma attached to the skin condition, fatigue and painful joints and tendons but also are 65% more likely to develop diabetes and 17% more likely to be hypertensive (high blood pressure) these combined lead to an increased cardiovascular risk thus increasing the chance of both heart attacks and strokes. Not suprisingly there is a 37% higher risk of developing depression.

With your help and support we can raise money for help and research into these chronic conditions and hopefully benefit both their physical and psychological health.

I truly thank each and everyone of you for your help and support.
