Story
Having enjoyed sports for most of my life, the last few years my fitness levels have fallen off a cliff, so I needed to do something for myself, but also delighted that 16 of us at The Entertainment Department (ted) are doing it as a team.
For those who know me well you know I love a challenge. I can have fun in water but have never swam any form of distance, I can ride a bike but have never rode more than a few miles, I have enjoyed running on a rugby or football pitch but have never run distances on the road, so the olympic triathlon distance challenges me on all fronts with a 1,500m swim, 40km ride & 10km run.
But the real story is our chosen charity. There are so many amazing charities out there so it has been tough to select one. We are delighted to be competing in aid of the UK's largest independent music therapy charity, Nordoff Robbins.
Nordoff Robbins is a music therapy charity dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and isolated people of all ages, through dedicated centres and by working in partnership with more than 150 organisations, including care homes, schools and hospitals. As music is at heart of everything ted produces and the fact this charity impacts everyone this is the perfect cause to train & compete harder than we have would.
Please donate, I will train so hard to complete, but it is the giving and supporting of others that counts, thank you in advance...
