Care for Wild is the largest rhino orphanage in the world, rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing orphaned rhinos whose mothers have been brutally murdered by poachers for their horns. Now more than ever, these endangered rhinos need your help.

Story

As a very committed and enthusiastic wine drinker I thought I would participate in Dry January 2021and raise money at the same time.

I discovered Care for Wild thanks to Darren Gough and have  been captivated by the charity from the moment he started telling me so many amazing stories about the great work that this charity does for baby rhinoceroses.

Since October 2020 Freixenet Copestick Ltd. has already raised a few thousand pounds for this brilliant cause by selling The  Care for Wild Wine Collection via www.slurp.co.uk .

This wine launch was the most successful in Slurp's history so buoyed by the fantastic sales we are in discussions to gain broader distribution in the UK and all over the world.

Now I am going to set myself the ultimate challenge (!) of not drinking wine or any form of alcohol for 31 days. In return all I ask is that you join me in supporting Care for Wild. All donations will be very welcome.

As an added incentive I will also vow to match any donations offered should I fail to meet this challenge.

The Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary was established to help raise funds towards the conservation of endangered species, in particular rhinoceroses. They do that by making grants towards the rescue and ongoing care of any orphaned animals, but they also recognise and support the importance of community development to help provide education, health services and jobs. This thereby reduces the temptation to succumb to poaching in the first place.

About the campaign

About the charity

We exist to help save endangered species, in particular black and white rhinos, orphaned by the poaching epidemic which is threatening their extinction in South Africa. Part of this aim is achieved by working to develop the communities local to the sanctuary in Mpumalanga province, South Africa.
