The RNLI will help more than 23,000 people this summer alone!
We are a water-loving island race that enjoys so many types of sport and recreation on or near the water. Helping to keep us safe is an army of volunteers from the RNLI that does everything from informing people before they go near the water to rescuing them in the most horrendous conditions miles out to sea and everything in between. 

On September 15th I will be rowing the Boston Marathon in a single scull, a 50km head race from Lincoln to Boston. For me it will be a huge physical challenge but nothing compared to what many volunteers do each week.
