Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Having raised nearly £5k for CHSW' Bristol hospice a couple of years ago, we harbour hopes of beating that total, for which we - or rather CHSW - really need your generous (that means just a bit more than the figure you first thought of!) support.
Those of you who know Robin will know that he's not exactly a regular gym bunny, hates running and his days of sporting prowess are rose tinted by the length of the memory. So doing this means a LOT of training, long gruelling miles on the roads and hills around the Chew Valley, when the furthest he has been on a bike in the last 30 years was 5 miles on the Camel Trail.
Dave thinks he can swan home from a year at USC in Los Angeles and give his old man some moral support by disappearing over the hill ahead, but Robin thinks he is for a nasty shock and 4 weeks of real training!
With some 50 others, we're going to cycle 240 miles from St Austell to Bristol, in 3 days 19-21 June. Day 1 is apparently 87 miles and 7000 ft of ascending. St Austell is where CHSW wants to build its 3rd hospice; we're going via Barnstaple where the original one is located on Day 2 and then on to Bristol's on Day 3.
Unashamedly, please do take a moment to visit CHSW's website at www.chsw.org.uk to see what they do to make the most of short and precious lives, before deciding on a figure to sponsor us for, then double it!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Children's Hospice South West gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
