It is a horrible disease that robs a person of their identity and memories. There is no cure at the moment. Family members have to watch as their loved one slowly fades away and becomes a shadow of their former self, not knowing who their family members are, nor understanding their surroundings.

There has been progress in understanding the causes of the disease, but the magic bullet of a cure still needs to be discovered. Altzheimer's Research is looking for that cure, and ways to slow and alleviate the disease.

I have a personal link to this disease - my grandmother had it, and my father currently has it.

This bike ride challenge of about 1000 miles will take me three weeks to complete. I will start from Land's End on 9th June 2018.
