When my friend Diandra said she was running the Rome half marathon, I promised to go along and support (read: eat pasta, pizza and sightsee). Somehow I find myself signed up to run the race myself, and training on cold, foggy January mornings.

To spur us along, we have chosen to raise funds for the medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF), who are one of the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisations. MSF provide emergency assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. In 2023 the work of MSF is more crucial than ever.
