Running a marathon has always been an ambition of mine and I’m really grateful to have been given the opportunity to run London whilst raising money for a charity who provides financial support to young athletes, helping them to achieve their dreams. 

It is not only the athletes who benefit from this amazing charity but also the young children who inspire to be like them and better themselves. I personally have got so much out of sport over the years, from the social interaction, improvements to my physical and mental well-being and the overall fun aspect and I really believe in the words quoted by the founder of the charity....

“Sport is the most precious

commodity we have to hand on

to the next generation”

...and the more children who are inspired by the athletes who are for funded by the foundation and then become involved in sport themselves, the better. 

I have never entered a marathon before but I am sure that the thought of the money being raised and the good that it will do will give me the push that I need to get over the finish line, as will the thought of the additional benefit of helping me to reduce my beer belly!!
