Welcome to the Exeter Kilimanjaro Challenge Campaign 2021! These incredible students are taking on the challenge of a lifetime all whilst helping in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia.

Story

In 2020 I was scheduled to do a trek to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest freestanding mountain, in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF). Unfortunately, this was deferred a few times but it’s finally happening this July!

This charity aims to research and raise awareness of two serious diseases, Meningitis and Septicaemia. Meningitis and neonatal sepsis are the second biggest infectious killer of children under the age of five on the planet, affecting more than 2.8 million people every year. They can kill you within 12 hours and are responsible for more deaths of children under 5 than malaria, measles, tetanus and AIDS combined.

The Meningitis Research Foundation works in providing better access to vaccines, health systems that can diagnose and treat children, and support to survivors of meningitis. The work they do is so important in raising awareness and fighting these diseases.

Any donation to this wonderful charity can be done using the donate button. Even £1 can make a difference. And if you can't donate, sharing this page to raise awareness would also be a huge help!

Thank you so much for your kind donation !!
