Story

Cycle4Sepsis is back for its 8th year and we are supporting them in their mission to raise awareness about sepsis across the country. This year, the format is unique - we're going virtual! In celebration of World Sepsis Day on 13th September, all of the pupils from Roby Park Primary School will be cycling/scooting/running ...attempting a collective goal of 150 miles! We are looking for some special, kind of people to sponsor us and our exciting challenge! So if you could, it would be great if you could donate to our page.

Sepsis is a disease that has affected families within our school community, including Mrs Allen's when her daughter was born with sepsis in 2018 and became ill again shortly after getting better. Luckily for Mrs Allen, her daughter is fighting fit but that isn't always the case for many who are affected by this infection.

Every year in the UK, sepsis kills at least 48,000 people with better awareness thousands of these lives could be saved. Thank you for your help! Your support and donations will make the difference!

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
