Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

Yes, it's that time of year again when two of Kernow's finest bands join forces in the name of charriddee!! This is the 3rd year in succession that that local legends Bobby's Helmet, and Cornwall's own monster's of rock High Voltage, perform in the infamous Skittle Alley at the Blue Anchor to bring you a fantastic night of high quality, loud and proud RAWK!

As usual, the evening will feature the popular live band ROCK-AOKE, giving you all a chance to get up on stage and perform a song from our set lists backed by one of the bands - if you have the balls to do it that is! All you have do is pick a song and put an extra couple of quid in the charity bucket!

As its for charity, on this occasion there will be an entry fee of just £3 per person, which we feel is excellent value for 3 hours of awesome live music. The entry fee will also include a free ticket in the raffle draw as well.

It is also 'Wear a Hat' Day!! This is organised in association with Brain Tumour Research UK, our chosen charity for this year's event. We'll be taking part in it - so you can too! Just wear a hat! Simples! And remember, as Turtz would say, 'A Man Ain't A Man Without a Hat!'.

As mentioned above, this year's charity is Brain Tumour Research UK. All funds raised will be going to the charity to help Turtz achieve his fund-raising target for his London Marathon run which he will be on Sunday 26th April. Turtz has very close connections with this Charity as he lost his younger brother, Simon, due to a brain tumour in 2011. This year's charity event will be dedicated to SImon.

So that's it! 4 weeks to go until the Skittle Alley is rocked to its foundations once again! The previous charity rock nights have had great support from you. It was initially going to be a one off collaboration, but due to the popularity of the first one we all agreed to make it an annual event. The success of the evening will be down to all who attend and contribute to the fund-raising. The bands will be doing their bit on the night - We all hope that you will support us and take part in a great night out!

Cheers
Mark
