Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro · 3 February 2015

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates and funds three air ambulances and a fleet of critical care cars covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This lifesaving service costs £13-14 million each year and is funded by donations only.

Story

Why are we doing this?

What started as a crazy idea has now turned into a reality. After deciding she'd like to attempt the climb, Tracey hoped to find one or two willing participants to climb with her. Several passing comments were made jokingly, but the reaction was far greater than originally anticipated and now a dedicated team of 15 friends (Richard, Mark, Lee, Holly, Dave, Jade, Sanel, Hiten, Simon, Kate, Caroline, Sean, Vince, Tracey and Patrick) will be climbing Kilimanjaro which at 5,895m, is the world's highest free-standing mountain.

We have all paid for this trip ourselves, all the money we raise will go directly to Midlands Air Ambulance, as they provide first class life saving care. The Air Ambulance serves over 5.5 million people across six counties (covering an area of over 5,000 square miles) and is funded entirely by the public with no Government or lottery funding - so please be as generous as you can...you won't be financing an adventure holiday!

(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.)
